Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism really impressed customers and hence, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, since the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into production with telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic slump in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was only decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC machine.
As opposed to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machines are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
