Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck comes in quite a few models: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the simplest. The forks of the truck slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are only one pallet deep.
The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is ideal for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This model has telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet should go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the added advantage of being able to not just slide underneath the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in multiple directions. This particular version is best in situations where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Normally more than one type of reach truck is needed inside warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms utilize different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and could maximize available storage space while increasing production.
