Kinds of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments are able to turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn within the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and usually utilize certain guidance systems such as optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks comprise Swing Masts, Order Selectors and Turret Trucks. These are popular models in compact retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks can operate in aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models like Reach Trucks. They are commonly utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is designed to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is large and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent entry and exit. The model consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more productive while limiting fatigue.
