Inventor Jerome Case founded the company of CASE in Racine, when he started the building of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition globally as the first maker of steam engines for its agricultural use. By 1912, Case had become established within the construction machinery business. The quickly started to make road building equipment like graders and steam rollers. Case grew their construction machinery business through different acquisitions, beginning with the American Tractor Corporation during the year 1957. Case had expanded their business by the mid-1990s to become the top maker of light-sized to medium-sized construction equipment.
Case merged with the company New Holland during 1999 and together they became CNH Global. This business became responsible for marketing some of the leading brands of construction and agricultural equipment in the globe.
