Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Chula Vista

Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Chula Vista

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to transport supplies and products around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one person.

To be able to prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Equipment should be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet should be carefully stacked to be able to guarantee that nothing would fall off during transportation.

To be able to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever found on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be in the middle to guarantee equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet in front of you as the momentum can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop gradually, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
