Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential tool within commercial businesses and industry since the year 1917. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through different kinds, from a basic tractor with an attached platform to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with various types designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of rubber or solid polyurethane and is suitable for indoor applications on smooth surfaces. The tread of a cushion tire is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are commonly utilized within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They are available in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the use, they are available with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires maintain constant pressures and are less prone to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on surfaces that are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire with the puncture resistance of a solid tire. They are an alternative to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Used on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires that could either be pneumatic, solid or foam. These tires are suitable for moving and loading bulk things onto trucks or into processing machines. Large flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts normally used at auto recyclers, lumberyards and construction locations.
