In order to be a successful unit, a forklift has to be powerful enough to last in all working conditions for many hours of use. It must be able to move cargo quickly and effectively as well. The machine needs to also be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It has to be powerful enough to constantly deliver incredible durability through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The steer axle, drive, transmission and engine are all isolated to be able to reduce vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda LP & Gas Engines:
Mazda's LP engine and GM's gas engines utilize cast iron blocks to promote long life. These equipment offer an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system that needs minimal repair or adjustment. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most machines. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts which provide resistance when driving on rough environment. The durable clutch packs offer 3 times the life of preceding packs. Last of all, there is electronic inching available which adjusts automatically so as to reduce maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal that minimizes shock loading, increases durability and extends tire life. As well, the auto deceleration feature lessens both brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
The Drive Axle is designed for added strength with its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This specific component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for debris and damage, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which could add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. As well, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's standard packages, they have included numerous ergonomic features and safety features. These machines will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both safe and comfortable for the length of their shift.
